Ann Arbor Invests in Natural Resources Index

Written by: Koncheng Moua, Director of Data Management and Strategy

The Ann Arbor Employee Retirement System has invested in a State Street index fund, providing exposure to the natural resources asset class.

According to meeting minutes from the August 18 board meeting, approximately $6 million will be invested in the SSGA S&O Global LargeMidCap Natural Resources Index fund.

The Board and their consultant, Meketa, previously have held discussions on increasing their allocation to Natural Resources for enhanced diversification and inflation hedging.

Ann Arbor Employee Retirement System targets a 3% allocation to Natural Resources.
