Written by: Koncheng Moua, Director of Data Management and Strategy

The Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois is seeking one or more active emerging markets
equity managers. The $63 billion Retirement System recently released the search on their
website.

According to the search, “Broad emerging market equity strategies considered may be large or
all capitalization. Country specific strategies, which may be large, mid, or all-capitalization,
focused solely on Chinese equities or focused solely on Indian equities will also be considered in
this search.”

The TRS intends for broad emerging markets strategy allocations to generally be for $200
million or more, while country specific strategy allocations would generally be between $50
million and $150 million. One or more firms may be selected for the search.

RVK, the Retirement System’s investment consultant, will be assisting with the search.

Deadline for submissions is August 12, 2022.
