The Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund is planning to issue an RFP for one to two new MWDBE private equity managers, according to February 27th investment meeting materials.

After review of the 2024 private equity commitment target which was set at $50 million for the year, CTPF staff suggested initiating an RFP for MWDBE managers for a commitment of up to $40 million. $10 million is anticipated for a reinvestment into a Venture FoF.

As of September 30, 2023, the $12 billion Pension Fund allocates 8.9% to private equity with an acceptable target range of 3% to 7%.
