Illinois TRS Commits $970 to Alts; Retains RVK

The Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois has disclosed  $970 in new investments across 10 funds.

In private equity, $5 million was committed to Alkemi Venture Fund II, managed by Alkemi Growth Capital based out of New Delhi. Bertram Growth Capital V received a $75 million allocation. $25 million was committed to buyout fund, FVLCRUM Fund I. $150 million was invested in Clayton, Dubilier & Rice XIII. $200 million was committed to Parthenon Investors VII.

In real estate, $115 million was committed to Fortress Japan Opportunity Fund V and $100 million was committed to Fortress Real Estate Opportunities Fund IV, both managed by Fortress Investment Group. In addition, $100 million was invested in Basa Real Estate Fund III.

In private credit, $100 million was allocated to the Taurus Mining Royalty Fund and $100 million was invested in PIMCO Corporate Opportunities Fund IV.

A full redemption of $200 million from Maniyar Macro Fund was also disclosed, a hedge fund managed by Maniyar Capital Advisors based out of London.

As for the general investment consultant search, RVK was retained and was awarded a five-year consultant contract.
