Illinois TRS Discloses $2.6B in New Commitments; Terminates Two Managers

The Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois has disclosed up to $2.63 billion in new commitments, according to a recent news release.
Private Equity/International Equity
$50 million was allocated to venture capital fund Bessemer Venture Partners XII Institutional. $15 million was also allocated to Bessemer Forge Institutional Fund I. $200 million was committed to buyout fund, Apollo Fund X. Venture capital fund, Longitude Venture Partners V was awarded a $40 million commitment. $75 million was committed to buyout fund, SK Capital Catalyst Fund II. $50 million was committed to Insight Opportunities Fund II, managed by Insight Partners. True Venture Partners VIII was given a $50 million commitment. Buyout fund Vista Equity Partners Fund VIII was awarded $150 million. $50 million was committed to venture capital fund, Scale Venture Partners VIII.
In addition, $475 million was allocated to Schroders International Large Cap Equities strategy.
Real Estate/Infrastructure
$300 million was committed to the Starwood Capital Group Value-Add Fund II. $200 million was committed to the KKR Diversified Core Infrastructure Fund. Additionally, Brookfield Infrastructure Fund V was given a $300 million commitment.
Private Credit
$125 million was committed to the Brookfield Infrastructure Debt Fund III. $400 million was allocated to the Finisterre Capital Emerging Markets Debt strategy. Also, $150 million was committed to the PGIM Emerging Markets Debt Strategy.
Terminations/Redemptions
The TCW Emerging Market Debt strategy was terminated. According to the news release, “TCW had administered $645 million in TRS assets”. The international equity small cap strategy of Strategic Global Advisors was also terminated. The strategy was approximately $162 million at termination. The full redemption in the amount of $264 million of PDT Partners was also approved.
