New York STRS Commits $830M to Alts

The New York State Teachers Retirement System disclosed seven alternative investments, totaling $830 million, according to materials from the January 25th board meeting.

With in private equity, $150 million was committed to Hahn & Co IV, $100 million to Peninsula VIII, $50 million to  Cortec Group Fund VIII, $50 million to  A&M Capital Partners III, $80 million to A&M Capital Strategic Investments, and $100 million to AMCSI Co-Investment Partnership. 

In private credit, $300 million was committed to OIC Credit Opportunities Fund IV.

As of December 31, 2023, the $138.5 billion pension fund allocates approximately 9.5% to private equity funds with a target allocation of 9%. And approximately 1.6% to private credit with a target allocation of 2%.
