University of Michigan Regents Commits $90M to Private Equity

The University of Michigan Investment Office has approved two commitments to private equity totalling $90 million at the recent December 7th board meeting. 

An investment of $50 million was approved for Investindustrial. Investindustrial strategy focuses on control investments in medium sized companies in Europe.

Additionally, $40 million was allocated to a strategy managed by Waterton Global Resource Management. The strategy invests in the North American metals and mining sector.

As of September 30, 2023, the $18 billion Fund allocates 14.5% to private equity.
