Ohio School Employees’ Allocates $57M to Private Equity

The School Employees’ Retirement System of Ohio has disclosed two private equity commitments totaling up to $57 million.

According to board highlights from their October meeting, €50 million was committed to The Eighth Cinven Fund, a buyout fund. In addition, $7 million was approved for the FS VIII NearU Co-investment fund. The co-investment is a partnership between Freeman Spogli & Co, and NearU Services.

As of August 31, 2022, the $17.3 billion Retirement System had an actual and target allocation to private equity of 12.3% and 12% respectively.
