STRS Ohio Commits $275M to Private Equity

The State Teachers’ Retirement System of Ohio has disclosed $275 million in private equity commitments across four funds. 

$100 million will be invested with Thoma Bravo Discover Fund IV, $50 million in Thoma Bravo Explore Fund II, and $50 million in Thoma Bravo Fund XV. Thoma Bravo invests in businesses that provide application, infrastructure, or security software products and technology enabled services. 

In addition, $75 million was committed to venture capital fund, Tiger Iron Great River Fund II. STRS Ohio previously committed $125 million to TIGR II

These commitments bring STRS Ohio total private equity commitments to $326 million per to date for fiscal year 2023.  The Fiscal 2023 Investment Plan calls for $400 million to $1.2 billion in private equity commitments.
