School Employees Retirement System of Ohio Commits $50M to Venture Capital Fund

The School Employees Retirement System of Ohio has approved a $50 million commitment to venture capital fund, Lightspeed Opportunities Fund II.

Lightspeed is a multi-stage venture capital firm with a focus on the enterprise, consumer, fintech, and health sectors.

As of May 31, 2022, the $17.8 billion Retirement System has an actual and target allocation to private equity of 12.6% and 12% respectively.
