Texas TRS Commits $170M to Private Equity

The Teachers Retirement System of Texas disclosed two recent allocations to private equity totaling $170 million.

$150 million was allocated to Ridgewood Energy PIV, an energy focused private equity fund, and $20 million to Thomas Bravo Project Rock Co-Invest Fund.

As of June 30, 2023, the pension fund has allocated approximately 17.2% of its holdings to private equity with a long term policy target of 14%. The current allocation to Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure is 6.6% with a long term policy target of 6%.
